Makeup Monday! - Makeup Tips for Your Eyecolour

Step One: Find Your Eye Colour

(For our lovely brown eyed ladies, look at the orange colour)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:RGV_color_wheel_1908.png

Step Two: Find Your
Complimentary Colours and Colour Families

Tip 1: Find your complimentary eye shadow colour by looking at the colour wheel and seeing what is on the opposite side of it.
Ex. If I have green eyes, my complimentary colours would be purples like Magenta

Tip 2:  If you want a more natural look, wear colours that are from the same colour family as your eye colour; but make sure the eye shadow is always softer than your actual eye colour
Ex. If you have brown eyes, wear a soft brown.
Ex. If you have blue eyes, wear a soft blue.

OR

Wear anything that your heart desires!

Purple Smokey Eye

To get this look:

Step 1: Put a shimmery champagne colour into the corer of your eye, (add a little bit below too for added effect) and sweep across to the half way mark of your eye
Step 2: Place a dark purple or plum colour into the outer edge of your eye and blend the two colours together
Step 3: Put the purple colour around the bottom edge of your eye
Step 4: Add some thick eyeliner, and mark your waterline with a dark soft kohl eyeliner pencil
Step 5: Put some fake lashes on for drama, or add a simple coat of mascara

It's a pretty simple look, but it's my go-to! I get comments on my makeup all the time when I wear this. The shimmer focuses attention on your eyes, but the dark purple adds depth and mystery. It's not too simple and not too overdone!

MAC Eyeshadow in Ploof -$18
MAC Eyeshadow in Vibrant Grape- $18
Eyeshadow Base - GOSH $15
Eyeliner - Revlon Colour Stay Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Blackest Black $8
Mascara - Revlon's Voluminous in Carbon Black $9

Purple and Gold

In order for people to focus on your eyes, always make them the most colourful thing! For example, leave your lips pretty neutral with a little lip shine, then have your eyes all done up in your beauty!

To get this look I used gold over most of my lid, then brown in the corner. Under my eyes, I put some purpley/blue to makes them stand out and the blue/green hue come out a bit more. The just blend, blend, blend!

Eyeshadow Base - GOSH $15
Eyeshadow - GOSH Eyeshadow Quad $18 & Loose Pigment in Gold
Eyeliner - Revlon Colour Stay Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Blackest Black $8
Mascara - Revlon's Voluminous in Carbon Black $9

Ocean Eyes

Blue eyeshadow's will make blue eyes seem more blue! Always start with the lighter colour in the corner of your eye and blend in the darker colour at the other end. Try to blend the eyeshadow as best you can, especially in the crease of your eye. After this step, make sure you put the darker colour on the bottom edge of your eye, and finish the look with mascara and some eyeliner. Dont forget your waterline!

Eyeshadow Base - GOSH $15
Eyeshadow - GOSH's Eyeshadow Quad $18
Eyeliner - Revlon Colour Stay Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Blackest Black $8
Mascara - Maybelline's Great Lash (Lots of Lashes) in Carbon Black $7
