Purple Smokey Eye

To get this look:

Step 1: Put a shimmery champagne colour into the corer of your eye, (add a little bit below too for added effect) and sweep across to the half way mark of your eye
Step 2: Place a dark purple or plum colour into the outer edge of your eye and blend the two colours together
Step 3: Put the purple colour around the bottom edge of your eye
Step 4: Add some thick eyeliner, and mark your waterline with a dark soft kohl eyeliner pencil
Step 5: Put some fake lashes on for drama, or add a simple coat of mascara

It's a pretty simple look, but it's my go-to! I get comments on my makeup all the time when I wear this. The shimmer focuses attention on your eyes, but the dark purple adds depth and mystery. It's not too simple and not too overdone!

The Magic of Belts

I loved this outfit because there's nothing better then a big chunky sweater and some jeans! I added a belt to give me some shape and a waist, a long leaf necklace to breakup the monotony of a plain black tank and then a fun pair of heels to finish the look. I feel without adding the belt, this outfit could be too relaxed for where I was going, so with most outfits, if you find the right belt, it just adds a little something extra to class up what you're wearing!

Sweater - Sears Jessica Line $45
Necklace - Wild Abandon Jewelry $16
Belt - Old Navy $5
Jeans - Stitches $20
Shoes - Winners $40

A Touch of Pink

I've really liked playing around with my gold powder lately, and discovered this look!

Step 1: Place Pink or Fushia in the corner of the eye
Step 2: Put gold on the middle of the lid and blend into the pink
Step 3: Place a dark purple in the outer corner of your eye and blend the colour into your crease and also blend the dark purple into the gold
Step 4: Put as thick or as thin eyeliner on as your like, and then finish with some mascara! Voila you're rocking a fabulous new makeup look!

Bodacious Bling Belts!

Another event that I had to go to made me have to search for another formal dress... woe is me :). I found this number and loved the colour, but it was a bit plain. I found this blinged belt though and with the added sparkle, it felt just right! If you have any dresses that you want to put a new spin on, or make a little more interesting, try to add a blinged belt! They do miracles!

Comfy Weekend Outfit!

I'm in love with extra large comfy knit tops...especially ones in great bright colours! With a pair of my favourite flare jeans, a simple tank and my great Knit top, it's an awesome comfy weekend outfit! ALSO, red and blue are opposites on the colour wheel, so when paired together, it can be quite stunning. Opposites attract!

Purple and Gold

In order for people to focus on your eyes, always make them the most colourful thing! For example, leave your lips pretty neutral with a little lip shine, then have your eyes all done up in your beauty!

To get this look I used gold over most of my lid, then brown in the corner. Under my eyes, I put some purpley/blue to makes them stand out and the blue/green hue come out a bit more. The just blend, blend, blend!

Eyeshadow Base - GOSH $15
Eyeshadow - GOSH Eyeshadow Quad $18 & Loose Pigment in Gold
Eyeliner - Revlon Colour Stay Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Blackest Black $8
Mascara - Revlon's Voluminous in Carbon Black $9

Side Sock Bun Hairdo

What You Need:
Rolled up Socks to make a Sockbun
Bobbypins
Hair Elastics

Step 1: Make side ponytail, but leave a chunk out at the bottom
Step 2: Get sock bun and roll up or wrap around
Step 3: Secure Sockbun with bobbypins so it sits on your head
Step 4: Get chunk of hair that you left out and braid it.
Step 5: Wrap braid around Sockbun and pin braid in place

VOILA!

Look on the Lighter Side of Fall Fashion

I don't think that all Fall fashion needs to be filled completely with dark colours. I paired a white jean, rose coloured tank and a denim blue blazer today and loved the look! Of course I added a pop of colour from my fav necklace!

Pants - $40 Winners
Tank - $12 Dynamite
Blazer - $40 Moon from The Bay
Necklace - $18 Le Chateau

Layering for colder days ahead

I always seem to get cold, and my goal this year is to learn how to layer!  Get a neutral or white undershirt and slap on a comfy sweater over top...just let the undershirt pop through! By using a neutral colour and brighter one, it'll help balance the outfit by not making it too busy. The trick for layering is try mixing one print with a solid, or a bright colour with a neutral. Always balance it!

Sweater - $35 from Dynamite
Shirt - $35 from The Gap
Shoes - $40 from Le Chateau
Pants - $20 from Winners

Ocean Eyes

Blue eyeshadow's will make blue eyes seem more blue! Always start with the lighter colour in the corner of your eye and blend in the darker colour at the other end. Try to blend the eyeshadow as best you can, especially in the crease of your eye. After this step, make sure you put the darker colour on the bottom edge of your eye, and finish the look with mascara and some eyeliner. Dont forget your waterline!

Eyeshadow Base - GOSH $15
Eyeshadow - GOSH's Eyeshadow Quad $18
Eyeliner - Revlon Colour Stay Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Blackest Black $8
Mascara - Maybelline's Great Lash (Lots of Lashes) in Carbon Black $7

Little Blue Dress

It was my anniversary today, so I got to play dress up again! I love the vibrancy and cut of this dress...AND it's super comfy!

Dress - Jones New York $150
Cardigan - Smart Set $25

Ruching - A Girls Best Friend (Unlike Spanx!)

I admit that I haven't been super active lately, so I've added on a few pounds during the last month or so. I needed a fancy dress for a few events coming up, but have a love/hate relationship with Spanx so I wanted to find something that would have some ruching so I would feel more comfortable in it (and wouldnt have to wear spanx!). I found this lovely flowey dress with a sweetheart neckline AND ruching!

Its a great example of what ruching can do...even to just make you feel more confident in your amazingness!

Dress - $250 Ralph Lauren at The Bay (bought on sale for $40!)
Necklace - $18 Le Chateau

Statement Necklaces!

Even though this patterned dress could be seen as a bit busy, the statement necklace adds a pop of colour completing the outfit. This is probably one of my favourite necklaces ever! Also, I find that this outfit is perfect for the beginning of fall during that awkward stage when it's not warm anymore, but not cold enough for a coat! Blazers For The Win!

Necklace - $18 Le Chateau
Shoes - $40 Sterling
Blazer - $20 Sirens
Dress - $40 Lark and Sparrow
